The Google Ads and Analytics Playbook

Know what a click can cost you, and trust the numbers that say whether it paid.

A working system for Google Ads in India: tracking first, then a break-even in rupees, then campaigns, then a weekly review. It is for people who are spending money on Google and aren't sure what they are getting for it.

One-time payment. Instant access, and future editions included.

The Google Ads and Analytics Playbook cover

A ROAS of 3.20 can still lose money.

Google Ads rarely fails loudly. It spends on searches nobody chose, counts orders that never reach a doorstep, and changes its defaults while older guides stay online. This playbook fixes the order of work: check the tracking first, work out what a click may cost, build simple campaigns, then keep them honest with a weekly routine.

What you'll be able to do

  • Pass a six-point Tracking Gate before you raise a budget
  • Set up GA4, key events and conversions as they work in 2026
  • Calculate a break-even that accounts for GST, COD and RTO, or for your lead-to-sale rate
  • Correct Google Ads when COD orders fail, within Google's time limits
  • Work out a bid ceiling for each keyword before you bid on it
  • Decide on AI Max and Performance Max on purpose, with the controls you still hold
  • Run a one-hour review every Monday, with a one-page report

Who it's for

  • Founders. You run your own ads, or pay someone who does, and want to know which numbers to trust.
  • Performance marketers. You want a current reference on what changed in 2026, with sources, and a tracking process you can hand over.
  • Freelancers and agency owners. You need a client audit, a reconciliation you can explain, and plain reports.

Who it's not for

  • Anyone looking for a single setting that fixes results.
  • Advertisers in categories Google restricts in India, such as rummy and fantasy, or unverified financial services. The guide explains the rules, and can't work around them.
  • Readers who want click-by-click video training. This is a decision guide, and it links to videos where they help.

Why it's worth paying for

Tracking comes first

A six-point Tracking Gate, with a real test order, before any campaign advice.

Built around Indian economics

COD share, RTO and GST go into your break-even, and each campaign is judged on contribution after delivered and failed orders.

A check for when numbers disagree

The Three-Number Check compares Ads, GA4 and your store every week, and flags the week the gap moves.

Every claim labelled and dated

Each platform claim is tagged Documented, Practice or Hypothesis, with sources, a read date, and a list of what we could not verify.

Questions

How much ad budget do I need?

There's no fixed number. The guide shows you how to work it out from your own target, and has a section for accounts spending under ₹30,000 a month.

Is this up to date?

Platform details were checked against Google's own documentation on 31 October 2026. The sources chapter lists them, along with what we could not verify. Corrections and new editions appear in your library.

Does it work for services, or only e-commerce?

Both. The examples use a sample online store and a sample interior design studio. Chapter 5 is for product sellers, and lead businesses have their own break-even and tracking steps.

Will my Google Ads and GA4 numbers match after this?

No, and Google says some gap is expected. You'll learn what your normal gap is, and how to spot when it changes.

Do the spreadsheets work in Google Sheets?

Yes. All formulas use functions available in both Excel and Google Sheets.

Are the examples realistic?

Yes. They follow a D2C store and an interiors studio through common Google Ads problems in India: spend on searches nobody chose, COD orders counted as sales that never reach a doorstep, and not knowing what a click is worth. Lohar Kitchen and Studio Aangan are illustrative, and so are their numbers, so use your own figures, not theirs. Photos are AI-generated illustrations.

How will I get it?

After payment, the product appears in your library. Download the guide and tools at any time, and return for updated editions.
